Jeep Safari 2009

So I just got back from Jeep Safari. LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!! I'm a rock krawling JUNKIE! Not to mention my Bronco is a wheelin machine...or maybe its just the driver, who knows! LOL anyway, my friends and I signed up for an actual safari this year with guides and all that fun stuff! I honestly won't do another safari trail, but it was still fun. We spent the WHOLE day on the trail, and nearly 3 hours on one obstacle. But we still had a blasty!! haha So without further ado, here's the pics!!

This first one was right before we left for the trail. I was airing down my tires. I ran them at 15 lbs of pressure. My bronco is so light that we decided next time we go out we're going to run them with 10! You can see the rain drops on the window...it was raining soooooooo hard on the way to the trail head, and my windshield wipers are probably the slowest things you have ever seen...literally!

This one was a few of our group. The clouds cleared up for just a minute and the sun thought about coming out and being warm. It didn't last long!

Half of the group. We were almost the middle rigs.

This was by far the biggest obstacle I've ever done. My brakes aren't the greatest cuz we just did the disk conversion in the front and don't have a proportioning valve yet(the valve sends more break fluid to the disks in the front cuz they need more fluid than drum brakes), so one of my buddies in a full size bronco had a strap hooked to my bumper and he was my brakes. I was terrified, but it was awesome!

The trail guides told me I probably wouldn't be able to make it up this obstacle since I have open differentials (no lockers). I had to try it, just to say I tried it! And thanks to my mad driving skills, and a superb spotter, I made it just fine! Apparently I almost hit my spotter, lol I didn't notice, he was telling me "throttle THROTTLE...GO GO GO YOU GOT IT!!" So I went went went and nailed it!

This was my happy face when I got up the hill they told me I couldn't get up!

This was Fins and Things trail. We did it today (Sunday). The weather was awesome, and this trail only took about 2 hours.

So there's my first attempt at pics in the blog. I'm sure it looks kinda crazy. I couldn't get them to line up how I wanted. But yeah, thats Jeep Safari in a nutshell for ya!!!

  1. Way cool!!! Your happy face would have cracked if your smile was any bigger. (FYI... "breaks" = broken things. "brakes" = correct spelling for car parts. Sorry. I can't help my compulsion to be a spelling nazi.)
